Lawrence R. Kopczyk ’80 was an outstanding basketball player at Transylvania, earning All-American recognition and scoring 1,204 points during his career. The playmaking guard set numerous records for assists and free-throw shooting, was twice named team captain, and was team MVP as a senior. He was Transy’s Athlete of the Year in 1979-80 and he led the nation in free throw shooting as a senior.
